April 2008:
It was one of those magical nights in Bali, just after a retreat with Shiva Rea, that my friend Sonja and I sat under the stars talking, laughing and sharing experiences about life and yoga. We both realized how challenging it was to find yoga retreats, yoga workshops and yoga teacher trainings programs for our individual needs. How enriching it would be to have a global yoga directory on the internet with search engines to help us find yoga events all over the globe. That night under the stars of Bali the idea for this site was born.
May to August 2008:
Back in Switzerland, the idea of a global yoga page never left me and illuminated me like a star in a clear sky. The feeling became so strong, that I made the decision to follow my dream and set my sails to a new wind. Consequently, I left my job and took the first steps on a new path to the unknown, my first steps to connect the yoga world, my first step for The Yoga Page.
September 2008 to July 2009:
I returned to the birth place of my dream, to Bali, and I began to nurture the seed for The Yoga Page. My base was in Ubud, the spiritual heart and the art capital of Bali. This is the ideal setting for creativity, inspiration, yoga and culture. Like the rice fields of Bali, The Yoga Page began to grow every day until launched in July 2009.
We hope the story of The Yoga Page encourages others to follow and manifest their dreams.

Born and grown up in Switzerland, in her early twenties Gaby had already had a yearning to discover the world and its beauty, so she left home for several longer travels around the globe. The precious gift of Yoga came into her life in 2003. She attended the 200 Hours Yoga Alliance Teacher Training in Zurich, Switzerland in 2007, and has studied since then with different renowned teachers worldwide. In 2008 she left her banking job in Switzerland to follow her dream, to set up The Yoga Page on the magical island of Bali. |
